While these reports offer the official US government's explanation of UFOs during two different time periods-almost seventy years apart, they are strikingly similar in their conclusions, which are almost interchangeable. What is evident in the evolution of the terminology used over time-flying saucer, unidentified flying objects (UFO), unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP)-is that those who report on this topic continue to broaden their view on this area of study. However, the lack of groundbreaking discoveries in these reports continues to raise the question of what is not being reported.
