Dio's Rome is a monumental work of ancient history, and this edition presents material that was previously thought to be lost. The first volume includes an epitome of books 1-21 arranged by Ioannes Zonaras, while the second volume includes fragments of books 22-35. The third volume presents extant books 36-44, which cover the period from B.C. 69 to 44. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
