Poems from the heart of the Salish Sea and its surroundings, speaking to the mind and soul of all who love the Northwest. A haunting reverie on the mysteries of the land. Dan Gray is a native of the Stillaguamish River valley, in Washington State. The river has informed his poetry from the earliest days, when it was possible to feel the presence of the Great Ones everywhere you went. This cycle of poems, “Voices Headwaters” is a set of conversations between people, the world, history, and the Great Ones themselves, who, though they have left this land, still they live on in our hearts.
