
Abstract: Fat is undoubtedly one of the most psychologically debilitating conditions know to mankind. In order to lose weight successfully and permanently it is important to psychologically prepare oneself to be thin. The pscyhological aspect of dieting is more important for longterm success than the diet itself. Examine your motives for eating and why you stay fat. As you begin dieting keep a daily journal as an honest accounting of your actions. Analyze dreams and fantasies as they relate to your self image. Shop for a diet that is best suited to your individual needs. Throughout the dieting process be aware of your body changes and adjustments. Your perception of yourself should improve as your body does.
