Op September 21 the annual 'Best Dutch Book Designs' catalogue was presented at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. The book was designed by Studio Joost Grootens, since some eight years a frequently awarded creator of atlases and other books with challenging infographics. Joost Grootens choose to enhance the traditional contents of the catalogue with an inquiry into the reputations of the publishers, graphic designers and printers involved with the Best Dutch Book Designs of 2012. He transformed the results of his research into the colours that he attributed to historical listings and to the image spreads of the awarded books. It makes leafing through this catalogue a very special experience. Similarly the cahier-like form of the book refers to the adverse climate that the book is confronting these days.0Exhibition: Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, the Netherlands (14.9.-27.10.2013).
