Chief Justice Spigelman's Opening of Law Term speeches have over a period of twelve years covered a range of issues of great significance to the legal system in New South Wales and to the national legal system. They trace links between some of the major developments in the country's civic life, and outline directions for improvements to better suit the institutions of justice to the modern world. The speeches have come to be antiticpated as one of the major legal addresses of the year and are published by the Law Society of New South Wales to ensure they are recorded in a permanent manner, and to provide an opportunity for them to be read as a collection -- cover.
