Paul Shaw, his British creditors hard on his heels, escapes to America with $10,000 and his unstoppable optimism. He heads for Hollywood with his "brilliant" discoveries, a bunch of roller-skating black teenagers from Harlem. But three weeks later he is broke and forced to work as a butler.
