The objective of this document is to provide a program development plan for the assessment of a directed squid jigging fishery in British Columbia in support of a viable regional and provincial economic opportunity. With successful fulfillment of the programs sequential review bench marks of achievement, the proposed development plan will then aid in the implementation and commercialization of this project on both a technically and economically viable basis. Presents the current squid fishery status, the proposed development plan, envisioned fishery and overall economic viability, Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans considerations, and the action plan.
