This book is the product of a one-year investigation of New Orleans and its animate forms of exchange within the Lower Mississippi River Basin. Completed by the Harvard University GSD in collaboration with Tulane University just weeks before Hurricane Katrina struck, the research cuts through multiple scales and topographies as it moves from synthesizing the vast deltaic plain to carefully measuring and calibrating the liminal space between the river and the city's urban edge, color & b&w illus.
