Sue Williams lives and works in Cardiff, and has exhibited in Wales and internationally. More recently she was short-listed for the prestigious Artes Mundi prize at the National Museum Cardiff. Through her work, Williams explores her passionate and fluid responses to the human condition and the complexities of subjectivity. She explores the construction of femininity in the West, within the broader context of a sophisticated consumerist and media-dominated culture. Her work holds together many disparate thoughts and emotions, raising unsettling questions about the personal and the political, the individual and the ideological.
