Death is an inevitable part of the human experience, yet it is often considered taboo in modern society. While we may acknowledge its existence, many of us avoid discussing death and dying as if ignoring it could somehow delay or prevent its arrival. However, death is an inevitable and natural process we will all eventually face. In this book, we will explore death and dying through the lens of society, education systems, religion, and healthcare to inform and encourage people to be aware of death. As a society, we tend to shy away from conversations about death. This avoidance can lead to a lack of understanding and preparation for the end of life, resulting in unnecessary stress, confusion, and discomfort for the dying and their loved ones. This book will examine the social factors contributing to this avoidance, including cultural beliefs and norms, historical practices, and media portrayals of death. Through this exploration, we hope to encourage individuals to open up the conversation about death in their communities and ultimately create a more informed and accepting society around end-of-life issues.
