Written by professors from top universities in the U.S., Advanced Chinese through Business Topics is great for Chinese language classrooms, flipped classrooms, blended learning and self-study. It is a continuation of Part 1 and Part 2 of the new version ofDiscussing Everything Chinese. With structured, effective, and engaging design, this textbook brings real use of the language to the learners and allow them to go beyond short-term memory. The four themes in the textbook are: Consuming and Manufacturing, Competitions and Cooperation, Brand Name and Marketing, and Political Connections and Capitalism. There are 12 dialogues (in the Listening and Oral Expression book), 30+ paragraphs of reading texts and 12 videos (in the Reading and Video book). We provide clear notes and rich sample usages while constantly reviewing and reinforcing vocabulary and patterns in different contexts and activities. Notes of reviewed vocabulary from previous lessons are added to the listening dialogues, reading texts, sample sentences and exercises. This will make it easier for students to preview and review each lesson. At the same time, it will give instructors flexibility to select or shuffle the lessons to best fit their needs. Our aim for this textbook is to promote active learning through exploration both in the classroom and after classes.
