" Jin Wen, a former journalist, was born in 1967 and is currntly living in Fujian province, China. In autumn 2001, he came to Singapore in search of a bright future but ended up an over stayer. After six months of striving, struggling and despair, he surrendered himself to the Immigration authority on 6 February 2002. The following day, he was charged, convicted and sentenced to a month's jail and four strokes of the cane. Released and deported on 8 March, he returned to China with the manuscript of this book"--Back cover.
