In Ancient Egypt, a sickly girl with one arm loves making music on any object that she can use as a drum, often borrowing pots from merchants at the marketplace without their permission. Her poor fisherman father does not like that she leaves the safety of their home because this only makes her sickness worse. When she receives an old war drum, the little girl is emboldened to continue her passion, despite the risks to her health.Rumors are spreading of a newborn king that will bring justice for the poor. The little girl meets two traveling musicians that have seen the rumored king, and tell of a great miracle. Wonder and desperation drives the little drummer to make a choice that could risk everything.
