Charlie Sparks is the sheriff of a small North Florida town, his career derailed by rampant scandal and corruption. At the worst time possible, he's faced with solving the gruesome campsite murder of a young family. Though the youngest son survives, insisting a "monster" killed his parents and sister, Sheriff Sparks assumes the real culprits are two recent escape convicts, seeking their revenge against him. When a search party goes missing, Sparks assembles a makeshift search party of his own. It consists of the female deputy he's having an affair with, his old friend just returned from action in the Middle East, and a self-serving journalist hoping for the news story of a lifetime. Eager to protect himself and those he loves (and to reclaim his reputation,) Sparks journeys into Sisters Creek, a national forest, to recapture the convicts before they can kill again. What they discover instead is a feral family driven by a malicious need for human flesh, now setting their bloodthirsty appetites on Sheriff Sparks and his search party. They will never see what's coming as their journey transforms into a desperate struggle for survival?
