Author Description

This book is a photographic exploration of my travels to all seven continents and seven oceans. The focus is on the visual connections between details of urban life - colors, patterns, people - and their surrounding environment and landscapes. The photographs capture elements from each place through visiting more obscure areas, villages and neighborhoods to experience the people and their authentic ways of life - and also exploring the natural surroundings of the rainforests, mountains and deserts - to see how one is influenced by the other. Over 5 years of seeing the world, the interplay between these elements became the method I used to construct the book. 7x7 is a high-quality, 7"x7" gift book set up with 7 double-page spreads per continent or ocean. One image flows into the next connected through colors, patterns, lines and other visual elements. The book opens from both directions, one side focusing on land and the other on water.
