The Book of Contrivance is a semi-mythical holy text of the Silinist faith. It is, allegedly, an immense group of tomes, including such individual works as The Proverbs of Saint Chuck the Pragmatist, The Rationalizations of Flippicus the Liar, and The Frequently Asked Questions of the Gods. No matter what topic you're thinking about, what question you're asking, or about which philosophical point you're arguing, there's always some extremely relevant and topical insight which the Book of Contrivance can offer you. I have yet to find any topic which the Book fails to adequately discuss. The Book's endless usefulness is due, of course, to the fact that whenever I quote from it, I just make up something new on the spot. The Book exists for no reason other than so that whenever I or anyone else in the know needs to cite a quote, they can attribute it to having come from somewhere in the endless pages of the Book of Contrivance. This printed book exists so that you, too, can attribute to the Book of Contrivance whatever wisdom and philosophy you happen to need to quote at a given moment. Keep it on your bookshelf, or carry it around with you, and whenever you need to impress someone, take it out, open it to some random page, and proceed to invent something that supports your argument. The book's actual content consists of amusing quotations from famous people and fictional characters, to help stimulate your imagination when you want to make something up. It's also just good for a laugh. This book is not a static work. It is a continually evolving text which grows and changes as new quotes are added, old ones are removed, and whether for reasons of room or whimsy, their order is changed. Check back from time to time to see if the version you have is the most recent printing, though of course, so long as it helps you, any version is just as good as another. Share and enjoy.
