Collection of poems, mainly in the Doric dialect, by North eastern Scottish poet, Charles Murray. Includes "The Whistle" and the once widely known and much loved "It wasna his wyte". Murray was born in Alford, Aberdeenshire in 1864 and educated locally. He later became a civil engineer and emigated to South Africa, but as reflected in his poetry, his thoughts clearly often turned to home. Murray returned to Scotland following his retirement and died in Banchory, Kinkardineshire in 1941.
