"During my studies I drew at lot, as many as 2,000 drawings in a year, everywhere, in the street, in the cafe, and besides the so-called school-work, as nude drawings. At the beginning, drawing wa more outonomous. Nowadays, much more drawing is done in the development of a work...The necessity to draw also has something to do with the fear of no longer being able to draw."--Tuymans.
