This novel mostly takes place between Caracas, New York, and Madrid, from October 2016 to January 2018. Repression, as a result of autocratic governments in Latin America, the rise of populism in Spain and the United States, gender and sexual conflicts, and the collective and personal struggles of characters exiled from their place of origin, take center stage, creating a wide and inclusive fresco where the readers might find, as Severo Sarduy would say, "conjunctions" and "disjunctions" with their own biography.
