A comprehensive, communicative, three level beginner's Japanese course designed specifically for the Australasian multi-level classroom. Full colour cartoon stories and photographs, integral to the presentation of language and culture, provide a strong visual appeal. The Kimono method is designed to be used for a range of abilities. Students and teachers familiar with the first two levels of this course will immediately appreciate that KIMONO 3 represents the next stage in the evolution of this comprehensive course. Photographic stories based in Japan replace the cartoons of the first two levels and are an appealing way of merging Japanese language and culture. The stories are taken from real life in and around the city of Odate and feature four students from the local high school. The process of weaning students from their domestic perspective is completed in Kimono 3. A distinctive feature of KIMONO LEVEL 3 is the student's total immersion in Japanese life. KIMONO LEVEL 3 reinforces the reading and writing of hiragana and katakana, as well as introducing 28 kanji characters.
