This report finds that the Bank ' s implementation of its poverty reduction strategy remains robust. The Bank ' s operations support a wide range of activities that are helping to increase the productivity and economic opportunities of the poor, to develop human resources, and to provide safety nets. The quality of country assistance strategy statements also improved, and the Bank continued to extend and improve the use of participatory techniques in its analysis and lending. In the Bank ' s analytical work, more poverty assessments were completed, and other economic sector work continued to support poverty reduction efforts at the country level.
