Excerpt from Rules and Regulations Adopted by the President, Directors, and Company of the Bank of Montreal: Approved at a General Meeting of the Stockholders, Held on Monday, 5th June, 1826 There shall be a common Seal, to be provided by the board of Directors, and deposited in the Bank under the control of the President. It shall be his duty pursuant to the votes of the board of Directors, to aihx the same to all conveyances or other instruments where it may be necessary, which shall be executed by him in his official capacity in behalf of the corporation.
