States that the issue of global trade and labour standards will be amongst the foremost challenges confronting the international labour movement in the new millennium. Focusing specifically on the use of social clauses in trade agreements, argues that social clauses should be fought for not as a way of preventing "social dumping" but as a new lever in the battle to enforce international standards.
