Maxillofacial Prosthetics is the branch that deals with restoration and/or replacement of the somatognathic and craniofacial structures with prosthesis that may or may not be removed on a regular or elective basis. Maxillofacial defects can be acquired due to congential defects, trauma or cancer. These prostheses aim to restore esthetic appearance of the patient, improve function and help to reintegrate the individual into society.
