"Botrycoccus braunii (Bb) is a green alga that... has attracted considerable attention for many decades as it produces biotechnologically important compounds in large amounts-mostly various kinds of hydrocarbons. These componds could be used in the future as an alternative source (e.g. fuels).... This study is to better understand and define the operating parameters for the mass production of Bb under controlled conditions.
