Do you know how the world really works? Or do you just think you know how the world really works? Are you even interested in how the world really works, or if it works at all? Maybe you think it doesn’t work, or at least not rationally. If the thought that all is irrational with the world makes sense, or is a rational thought, Joel Benjamin’s amusing commentary on how the world works should be of interest. It’s a good laugh at some of the events that recently showed that the world really makes no rational sense. For example, why is it that some of the dictators of the Middle East start out being friends of the US? In fact, some of them were put in power with the help of the good old US of A. Then after a few years, it becomes foreign policy to topple the leadership of our supposed friend with whom we had a treaty, or at least, some kind of agreement. Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden- and the lastest, Muammar Gaddafi – what really happened to them, and how? This book will give you a scenario to think about, or at least, laugh about. Then there’s the case of wars fought to rid the world of WMD’s. Yet, some countries can have them and some can’t. Iraq was not allowed, but North Korea is. Or, how come world leaders are fixated on “The Middle East Peace Process” to the point where just talking about it- is actually doing something. Benjamin asks the question “Why?” He then proceeds to come up with some interesting, even plausible, reasons, which may or may not make sense, depending on the reader’s point of view. So if the issue of how the world works is keeping you up nights, you might want to snatch a read of How the World Really Works. Read a little, think a little and laugh a lot. Then stop worrying and sleep well.
