While we had great moments as a family, there are moments and things that I would much rather forget about. But, if I am honest, those things helped make me the man that I am today. Those things also led me to a point in life where I let go of what happened in the past and stepped up to be the parent that my father needs at this time in life. If asked, I would always tell someone that one of the strongest things that we can do as a son or daughter is position ourselves to where we can step in and be the parent for our parents, when it is needed.
