Author Description

A new character, Hank, is introduced in this story about a young boy playing hockey. Readers will celebrate his persistence and the fun he has playing with his friends and learning new skills. The readers too will be learning new skills as they apply the new -nk consonant blend throughout the story. Many of the -nk words also give practice using other blends and short vowel sounds strengthening the decoding skills of the readers.
