Currently one of the most important developments in computing is the X Window system--a portable, network-transparent window system that can be used with a variety of hardware and operating applications. This is a compilation of landmark articles written by DEC, USA experts and contains a reprint of the original X10 document by Scheifler/Gettys alongside the more recent paper on version X11.
