They explore the joy, heartbreak, and anxieties that can go hand-in-hand with holiday celebration - from a pair of recently unemployed parents confronting the paltry pile of gifts under the tree, to a group of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons facing their potential obsolescence, to a couple preparing for their final Christmas with their families before announcing their divorce, to a dogwalker crashing her employer's New Year's Eve party seeking closure on the recent death of a loved one, and many more.
