The contrasting solutions of Europe and the United States towards improving employment opportunities for disabled people are examined in this book. The contributors argue that lessons need to be learnt from America and European Union countries such as Germany if disabled employment is to be brought down to the same level as the national average. Vocational Rehabilitation and Europe looks at the services disabled people need to help them get back to work, the impact of the Maastricht treaty, lessons learnt from the first Horizon programme and the second Helios programme, and recent developments in services and legislation in the United States.
