While living in New York City, Pearson created album art and then editorial fashion and music magazine visuals-all powerfully represented in his paintings. Over the last five years however, he has worked on campaigns and documentaries addressing the global issues of modern slavery, aids + orphan epidemics, hunger and human rights. Pearson is creating oil paintings and finds himself strangely interconnected to the urgent crises of the outside world, yet encased in a bubble of comfort and luxury. This uncomfortable dichotomy gives voice to oil paintings that spotlight the allurement of beauty-although photoshopped and artificial-while concurrently broadcasting an uneasy distortion of the uncanny valley. In each piece there is something wrong. See More at JasonPearson.com
