This listing of Norfolk Southern locomotives is current as of Jan. 1, 2013 and shows an NS motive power fleet of 3,871 locomotives and 121 slugs, and two remote-control platforms, an increase of 44 locomotives and 13 slugs from the Jan.1, 2012 totals. Currently there are 21 units on order for 2013 delivery -- 6 rebuilt RP-E4C slugs, 11 rebuilt SD40Es, and 4 rebuilt SD60Es.
