Tango Blue Arias is a fantastical book of New Age poetry. The name of the book is borrowed from the Poet's Rescue Cat and he puts in an appearance in nearly every poem. This book will be remembered in the tradition of great poems written about cats, The Scholar and His Cat, Pangor Ban (written by a 9th century monk), Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats (by T.S. Eliot), Listen to the Warm (by Rod McKuen), Poem (as the cat) (by William Carlos Williams), Pursuit and Face Lift (by Sylvia Plath), Black Cat (by Rainer Maria Rilke) amongst others. The poems begin with a traditional Haiku, a Japanese tradition, putting the poem in context, as if the Poet is finishing unfinished poems, creating a new Haiku form. The experential, pared in style with Imagist and Symbolist influences, occasionally surreal, is an original take on New Age synergies. The new and inspiring use of language is an exciting play on new word constructs. Tango Blue Arias is a great read into the night.
