To the untrained eye, Zoey Wyatt is a pretty average kid. She goes to school, plays with her baby brother Roo, and loves this particular little orange kitty who goes by the name of Mo. She appears to have two loving, successful parents and lives in a beautiful house on Lake Morrison in Clarksville, Michigan with her family. But what no one knows is that Zoey has a secret- a secret that she will stop at nothing to protect. A secret, she is told, that if anyone becomes privy to, will bring certain tragedy. As nice and put together as her life appears on the outside, Zoey’s insides are equally fragmented and broken. Once the secret gets out, Zoey has to figure out how to take the broken pieces and put them back together into some sort of semblance of a life. But, as she grows up, she learns just how difficult this task will be. From Me to You follows Zoey from childhood into adulthood as she navigates the perils of growing up through unspeakable trauma. She learns how, if not dealt with, the cycle of trauma will just repeat itself over and over again, spiraling like a tornado and taking everyone down in its path. Some may say this is a story about circles. Circles that overlap, spin, twist, and connect. Some may say this is a story about generations. Generations trying their best to break the cycles and unbind the circles and somehow change the ending. Some may say this is a story about survival. But I would say it is more of a story about becoming a survivor. Or perhaps it’s a story of many survivors surviving the unsurvivable. I’ll let you decide.
