Product Description The book has been conceived for all those involved in foreign language teacher education. The authors have mainly focused on the teaching of English as a foreign language because all of the member states of the European Union educate teachers for English language teaching. Over the years, many innovate projects have arisen in a wide variety of national and cultural contexts. The book brings these ideas together so that insights into foreign language teacher education can be seen from a truly European perspective. It offers a rich sample of resources of different kinds. More specifically, it addresses different issues, perspectives, and challenges. About the Author The Editors: Pamela Faber lectures in Applied Linguistics at the translation faculty of the University of Granada (Spain). She holds degrees from the University of North Carolina, the University of Granada, and the University of Paris IV. She taught English as a foreign language at the university for many years. Wolf Gewehr lectures in Applied Linguistics at the University of Münster (Germany). He holds degrees from the University of Colorado, the University of Washington and the University of Münster. Besides being the founder and the first president of the European chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG), he is also one of the founders and vice-chairman of the Language Centre at the University of Münster. Manuel Jiménez Raya is a graduate in English philology from the University of Granada and obtained his doctorate from this university in 1993. Since 1992, he has lectured in English Language and Applied Linguistics at the University of Granada where he is now a senior lecturer. Antony Peck used
