
Established in 1999, the Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship is a biennial program that celebrates and supports the work of five contemporary Native American or First Nations artists working in the the U.S. or Canada by awarding them a cash award, purchasing art from each artist to add to the Eiteljorg Museum's permanent collection, and creating a scholarly catalog and exhibition per round. Now in its 13th instance, "Emerging Current" surveys the art of Jean LaMarr (Northern Paiute/Achomawi), John Feodorov (Navajo), Erin Ggaadimits Ivalu Gingrich (Koyukon Dene/Inupiaq), Maria Hupfield (Anishinaabek, Wasauksing First Nation), and Cannupa Hanska Luger (Mandan/Hidatsa/Arikara/Lakota).
