This is a set of collections of paintings by contemporary Chinese watercolor artists. Watercolor, an art form introduced to China from the west, appeals to Chinese very much. Since the 1980s watercolor has bloomed in creativity and theoretical studies. Thanks to the artistic contribution and exploration of Chinese artists, watercolor as a transnational art genre has reached a new height in the East Asian country, a phenomenon that has caught the eye of the international art circles. Huang Tieshan, Chen Jian and Zhou Gang, three outstanding Chinese watercolor artists, have successfully translated the Chinese national essence into glorious images in a realistic style and in the form of the western art. In the collections, the sketches and elaborate creations present artistic perfection and aesthetic value in individual styles. Their masterpieces represent the highest level of Chinese watercolor at present. This set of collections also serves as a treasure house of theoretical topics ranging from contemporary Chinese art to contemporary life of China.
