Designed for one-semester/-quarter undergraduate/graduate courses in Advanced Computer Networks, Advanced TCP/IP Networks, High Performance Networks, and Internetworking, in departments of computer science, electrical engineering, and computer and information sciences. This text provides in-depth coverage of the necessary tools and techniques for the performance evaluation of TCP/IP networks. It examines performance concepts and issues for running TCP/IP over wireless, mobile, optical and satellite networks; congestion control algorithms in hosts and routers to manage traffic congestion in TCP/IP networks and enhance application performance; and high performance implementation of TCP/IP protocol stack in software and hardware.
