In March of 2020, on Friday the thirteenth, the state of Michigan went on lockdown (shelter in place) due to the coronavirus pandemic. Community Christian Church, the church I pastor, was no longer able to hold church services of any kind in our building. In an effort to connect, encourage, inspire, and lead our church community through the pandemic, I started writing a weekly blog. The blog was based on past police stories I experienced prior to going into full time ministry. For Christmas that year, my son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Megan, gifted me by turning my weekly blog posts into this published devotional.
