"Action Art in Mexico: Registers and Residues approaches performance art through a heterogeneous array of exhibits, most of which come from the Centro de Documentación Arkhel, MUAC, UNAM. These works are characterized by their use of time and the body as a vehicle for enunciation. The exhibition is organized into 8 itineraries comprising more than 250 items, including audiovisual and photographic records, publications, sketches, scripts and objects used in various different actions. What the exhibition showcases is a partial mapping, one among many possibilities, of the diverse ways in which artists have enriched the phenomenon of action art in Mexico"--Page 4 of cover.
