
This program is for clients who are concerned about balance loss and falling, and/or fear of falling. This book is an in-depth look at the mechanics of balance, the loss of which results in a fall, and ways to treat the situation in an effort to avoid the fall. The program includes: an analysis of balance, issues complicating the balance, and exercises encompassing strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, and somatosensory input. The exercises are divided into three categories: bed, sitting, and standing and in each category range from easy to hard. This way the individual can build his own exercise regime and then advance it as the individual improves. Also included in the program are warm up and cool down exercises, frequency recommendations, and equipment recommendations.
