Present work is the outcome of our efforts to cover an important aspect of HR function, viz., Suggestion Scheme (SS), which has implication for the entire organisation. The work introduces us to SS as a concept, historical perspective of suggestion schemes from middle age through the modern times, needs & aims of it & ways to make it a success. Today suggestion schemes are instrumental in most of the successful organisations worldwide where mostly they have proven to be immensely successful. One such example of Indian Oil Corp. Ltd, (IOCL) Suggestion Scheme which goes on to detail analysis of its scope, procedure, evaluation, award system etc. & compared with suggestion schemes of various other organisations. Various eligibility & disqualification criterias for suggestions area showcased & methods of evaluation for calculating rewards is shown with solved example & also real scenarios are brought with the help of Annexures I to V. The analysis should help shed some light on this new and exciting HR area, and should be especially useful to professionals in Management fields, or anyone else.
