Thomas Cofer made His Will APRIL 24,1785 in Culpeper County, Virginia, and it was probated in Madison County, Virginia DECEMBER 17, 1791. Each chapter relates the story of one of his sons who settled in Kentucky, North Carolina and Missouri. Four of his sons served in the Revolutionary War: James Cofer, George Cofer, Reuben Cofer and Jesse Cofer. Floyd Harold Reno and his wife Martha Hooper Reno started gathering material after their marriage in 1965 by interviewing descendants and writing to others who were interested in the Cofer, Coffer, Copher family history such as Ray Copher and Harold Eugene Harris. This book is the final compilation of materials from the Internet, their private research and family members who shared their information.
