This first book of poems dwells in livedexperience-women and farms, women and men,raising kids, cooking bread, the front porch, themarriage bed. Terry Song has an uncanny ear forreal voices; as Kevin McIlvoy remarks, "When Ihave heard her read, I have strongly identified with the various distinctive voices, and I have often asked myself, 'How does she do that?"'Terry Song grew up on small farms in West Texasand Southwestern New Mexico. She lives with herfamily in Las Cruces, where she teaches writingand children's literature at New Mexico StateUniversity.
