The catalogue of the exhibition that took place in the Benaki Museum (2006) presented for the first time part of the numismatic collection belonging to the Welfare Foundation for Social and Cultural Affairs. A basic feature of this collection was that it focused entirely on copper coins placing emphasis on their properties that transcend time. The exhibition contained more than 500 copper coins that covered a wide span from the fifth century BC up to the establishment of the Modern Greek state.
