Author Description

Brenda Smith, 27, is a wife and mother of two. After several disturbing battles with her husband, she is allowed to take a job outside of their home. Once in the workplace, Brenda meets five women who seem to lead quiet, everyday, normal lives. As Brenda gets to know each of them intimately, she discovers that each of them possess a secret. Throughout this story, there is jealousy, conniving and tension. As the story comes full circle, the women triumph over all their struggles, putting their bitterness for one another aside and sit down for a straight-forward, gloves-off pow wow that enables them to reveal hurts, pain and losses. The result is a test of sisterhood in only a way that these women can control.
