Author Description

A picture of the transition process undergone by Zaporizhzhia, an industrial centre in Ukraine since the mid 1980s. The dynamics of economic decline are analyzed, linking changes in various spheres. It is shown how a partocracy developed into a kleptocracy, preventing social and economic progress.
