A recurring point of reference in Bettina Allamoda s sculptures, textile assemblages and collages is the history of the reception of art, whether it be fashion, architecture or decorative arts. She has always been interested in art and the place where it is shown, or from which it derives, often engaging architecture in her tangible readings of material and culture. These range from the military-entertainment complex to borrowing from the colonial past. Numerous examples of her artworks are included here, accompanied by thoughtful analyses from a variety of contributors: Claudia Basrawi, Jan Kedves, Juliane Rebentisch, Jörg Heiser and Katrin Bettina Müller.
